By exploring this site, you will discover that Homeopathy -- can effectively treat many of the chronic ailments and conditions that so many of us suffer from today, with a historical record of success in treating epidemics. It truly pays to learn more about Homeopathy -- the gentle, yet powerfully effective medicine!
A remarkable successful use of homeopathic prophylaxis was reported from a Cuban conference. Of course, the exact numbers and results are still to be published. Cuba has its own vaccine production and instead of using a conventional medical vaccine homeopathic remedies were distributed to prevent the usual Leptospirosis outbreak after tropical flooding. The results were phenomenally excellent!
The CDC describes Leptospirosis as:
“Leptospirosis is a bacterial disease that affects humans and animals. It is caused by bacteria of the genus Leptospira. In humans it causes a wide range of symptoms, and some infected persons may have no symptoms at all. Symptoms of leptospirosis include high fever, severe headache, chills, muscle aches, and vomiting, and may include jaundice (yellow skin and eyes), red eyes, abdominal pain, diarrhea, or a rash. If the disease is not treated, the patient could develop kidney damage, meningitis (inflammation of the membrane around the brain and spinal cord), liver failure, and respiratory distress.”
Here is a report from an attendee of a recent conference in Cuba:
A historical and inspiring event took place 10-12 December 2008 in Havana Cuba that I had the honour to attend. There, the Carlos J Finlay Institute under the guidance of its director-general, Dra. Conception Campa Huergo and Dr. Gustavo Bravo and others hosted NOSODES 2008, an International Meeting on Homeoprophilaxis, Homeopathic Immunization and Nosodes against Epidemics.
Homeopaths from Cuba, S America, Canada, Australia, UK, and Kenya (yours truly) made presentations on the wide varieties of successful disease prevention using homeopathy and more specifically, nosodes.
Each presentation was more amazing than the previous. All were very remarkable and notable in the field of research and science. Some of the topics included Childhood Disease Prevention, Homeopathic prophylaxis as an aspect of gov’tal programs, Nosodes Genus Epidemicus and Compexes, Homeoprophylaxis on Agronomy, Homeoprophylaxis on Veternary, Homeoprophylaxis in TB, Homeoprophylaxis in Chagas disease, Homeoprophylaxis in hepatitis, Homeoprophylaxis in Malaria (yours truly, again) and the list of presentations goes on.
(I am sorry for my lack of variety of adjectives for this email – “remarkable”, “awesome” and “amazing” will be repeated often because I have no other way to express my opinion of this conference)
THE PREVENTION OF EPIDEMIC LEPTOSPIROSIS IN CUBA But none of these remarkable speakers, each presenting their amazing work in disease prevention and use of nosodes could not hold a candle to the historical accomplishment of the Cubans in their presentation of controlling the local endemic-epidemic disease of Leptospirosis.
Now, the Finlay Institute is primarily the Cuban research institute that produces allopathic vaccinations for their country. Since Cuba is outcasted by the USA government, they have come to depend on themselves for the making of medicines, health care programs, etc. And since the Cuba is not under the yoke of the international pharmaceutical juggernaut, they are not held back from adopting homeopathy and other alternative medicines wholeheartedly into their national health programmes. The Finlay director-general herself is very pro-homeopathy (not to mention, besides, a macrobiotic vegetarian).
To put it simply, what they presented is this:
Cuba goes through a yearly cycle of Leptospirosis epidemic, especially after the hurricanes flood the countryside and water pollution reaches its height. (Leptospirosis: infectious disease caused by the spirochaete Leptospira transmitted to humans from rats, giving jaundice and kidney damage. Can cause death)
Annually the population is exposed to the disease, most especially after hurricanes.
Until Aug 2007, the Finlay Institute (a part of the Ministry of Public Health, Cuba) has been distributing its own allopathic Lepto vaccination. August is the height of the hurricane season. Annually, many are left homeless, flooded out and under the stress of disaster situation. There is a sharp rise in the lepto epidemic.
The usual expectacy of infection even with allopathic vaccination would have been around a few thousands, with some deaths included.
Part of the reason for this is that the high cost of vaccination prevents putting but the most at-risk populations (ie children, pregnant women, elderly) on vaccination. The cost of such limited vaccination is about US$3,000.000.
But in Aug 2007, Finlay put approximately [2,500,000] people (yes! 5 million doses!) in 2 provinces on homoepathic nosode prophylaxis at the cost of about only US$ 200,000.
That figure represents the entire population of the 2 provinces. The prophylaxis consisted of 2 single doses about 2 weeks apart. Included in the dose was the Lepto nosode + some Bach flower remedies to address the mental distress of the disaster situation.
How very amazing it was to watch this presentation being made. Up to the point, the presenters were showing us graph after graph of the usual rise of the epidemic, year after year, even with the use of allopathic vaccination. Each year the graphs would edge higher and higher towards the year-end, reaching up to the thousands of infected.
But this time, within 2 weeks after Aug 2007, the rising lines literally dropped off the chart to ZERO-Ten infections only! Yes. Near-zero infections, zero deaths from leptospirosis after Aug 2007. And in 2008, no deaths, infections less than 10 a month.
HISTORY MADE for Homeopathy This mass treatment of 2.5 million people with homeopathy, I don’t believe, has been done anywhere else in the world, not even in India, where homeopathy enjoys the shelter of the government.
And the awesome results of going from hundreds of infected to near-zero in the period of a few weeks, also is historical. My jaw dropped as I watched the graphs demonstrate their success.
The Cuban team readily admits that they have not invented anything new as far as homeopathic philosophy or application. They have simply followed what we homeopaths know to work. And since they have no pharmaceutical multi-nationals to stop them, they were able to do it on a massive scale unknown in the history of homeopathy.
What is remarkable is their application to such a large population, and its dramatic success, with full scientific verification. The results are incontrovertible and undeniable even by the most rabid of anti-homeopaths.
======= As a word or two about Dra Heurgo, Dr. Bravo and the rest of the Cuban team. Truly remarkable people. “Concita” as Dra Heurgo is lovingly known by the people of Cuba, is well known and loved as a woman who has done remarkable work to improve the health of the population. I found her to be a remarkable person – untiring, passionate about her work and compassionate in her motivation to serve her fellow human beings.
I should like to nominate her for the Nobel Prize.
Summary of Cuban Experiences on Leptospirosis Prevention From the Authors
Here is the preliminary report by the authors of a Cuban Study that used homeopathy to prevent Leptospirosis in 2.5 million Cubans.
Homeoprophylaxis: Cuban Experiences on Leptospirosis

“The Finlay Institute is a centre dedicated to development and production of vaccines; we also bring our WHO qualified facilities for all homeopaths and homeopathic medicine. The Finlay Institute acts as supporting institution for research, production and development of high quality homeopathic products. However, according with the social objective addressing prevention of infectious diseases, we are focused on homeo- prophylaxis as strategy to attenuate the impact of preventable diseases on developing world, the ones that need it the most.
Thus, development and evaluation of nosodes, appears to be our main approach to fill up the breakthrough on current conventional strategies based on vaccination. Similarly with vaccination interventions, massive applications of prophylactic nosodes give rise to a greater impact on population health compared with individualized therapies. In addition, the easy administration and low economics resources needed, become this alternative really suitable and accessible for developing countries and almost the best for emergency situations comprising epidemic outbreaks and natural disasters. The Cuban experiences of massively administrated nosodes supports it use as promising solution to confront epidemiological dangerous situations.
On October November 2007, three provinces of the eastern region of Cuba were affected by strong rainfalls causing floods of big areas and several damages to sanitary and health systems. The risk of leptospirosis infection raised extremely dangerous levels with about 2 million of peoples exposed to potentially contaminated water.
Considering this situation, the Finlay Institute prepared a leptospira nosode 200 CH using 4 circulating strains and following international quality standards. A multidisciplinary team travelled to the affected regions to conduct the massive administration of the nosode. Coordinated action with public health system infrastructures allowed the administration of a preventive treatment consisting in two doses (7- 9 days apart) of the nosode to about 2,4 million of people (4,8 million of doses). The coverage of the intervention rose up to 95% percent of total population of the three provinces at risk.
The epidemiology surveillance after the intervention showed a dramatic decrease of morbidity two weeks after and a reduction to cero of mortality of hospitalized patient. The number of confirmed leptospirosis cases remains at low levels and below the expected levels according with the trends and rain regimens.
A reinforcing application was given after the hit of the hurricane IKE but using the nosode diluted up to 10 MC. Strict epidemiologic surveillance is carried out on this provinces. Up to date result will be presented.
The results supported the design of new strategies for leptospirosis control. This experience could be extended to other diseases and other countries. The Finlay Institute is offering our facilities and specialists to spread this alternative to all regions needing emergent alternatives for epidemic control and prevention”.
Homeopathically prepared Gelsemium smepervirens has been used for over a century as a homeopathic remedy for individuals who can be suffering from anticipatory anxiety. It is also a very good remedy for influenza and many other complaints.
A recent experiment published by an Oxford University Press Journal that tested homeopathic Gelsemium in mice using standardized protocols for testing anxiety has shown that it has a significant impact, (p=0.0009 and P=0.0003). (The smaller the p value the more significant).
The study was led by Professor Bellavite in the Medicine and Surgery Faculty at the University of Verona, Verona Italy in association with Department of Medicine and Public Health (Biomedical Statistics Section) and Department of Medicine and Public Health (Medical Pharmacology Section) at the same University.
Gelsemium sempervirens is used in homeopathy for treating patients with anxiety related symptoms, however there have been few experimental studies evaluating its pharmacological activity. We have investigated the effects of homeopathic doses of G. sempervirens on mice, using validated behavioral models. Centesimal (CH) dilutions/dynamizations of G. sempervirens, the reference drug diazepam (1 mg/kg bodyweight) or a placebo (solvent vehicle) were intraperitoneally delivered to groups of mice of CD1 strain during 8 days, then the effects were assessed by the Light–Dark (LD) choice test and by the Open-Field (OF) exploration test, in a fully blind manner. In the LD test, the mean time spent in the illuminated area by control and placebo-treated animals was 15.98%, for mice treated with diazepam it increased to 19.91% (P = 0.047), while with G. sempervirens 5 CH it was 18.11% (P = 0.341, non-significant). The number of transitions between the two compartments increased with diazepam from 6.19 to 9.64 (P < 0.001) but not with G.Sempervirens. In the OF test, G. sempervirens 5 CH significantly increased the time spent and the distance traveled in the central zone (P = 0.009 and P = 0.003, respectively), while diazepam had no effect on these OF test parameters. In a subsequent series of experiments, G. sempervirens 7 and 30 CH also significantly improved the behavioral responses of mice in the OF test (P < 0.01 for all tested variables). Neither dilutions of G. sempervirensaffected the total distance traveled, indicating that the behavioral effect was not due to unspecific changes in locomotor activity. In conclusion, homeopathic doses of G. sempervirens influence the emotional responses of mice to novel environments, suggesting an improvement in exploratory behavior and a diminution of thigmotaxis and neophobia.
Here follow the immortal words of Health Minister, Mike O’Brien: ‘We take the view that it is not our job to stop clinicians prescribing these medications if they feel they are appropriate.’ See more here. Striking a blow for liberty worthy of John Stuart Mill, the Honorable Minister went on to say that cutting the (NHS) funding would be “illiberal” and “a denial of personal choice”. He also said there were a range of opinions amongst clinicians and scientists which could not be ignored.
This was after being grilled by the House of Commons Science and Technology Committee which comprised many people less than friendly to homeopathy. such as Edzard Ernst, Ben Goldacre and Tracey Brown all of whom lambasted homeopathy in the hearing. But the Health minister hinted at the essential point: NHS homepathy is practised by trained doctors who have to take responsibility for what they do. That is the headline and the bottom line and the middle line and all the other lines in between. Mike O’Brien knew it and had the guts to say it in the face of massive negative publicity in the media. Bravo Minister!
This is a wonderful, frabjous day for homeopathy, medicine and freedom. The Jabberwock of opposition to NHS homeopathy has yet to be slain that’s for sure, but make no mistake about it, dear reader, this is a BIG day for homeopathy and I’ll be chortling for the rest of today that’s for sure!

To examine if a potentized homeopathic drug, Natrum Sulphuricum200 (Nat Sulph-200) has protective potentials against hepatocarcinogenesis, liver tumors were induced in mice through chronic feeding ofP-dimethylaminoazobenzene (p-DAB; initiator of hepatocarcinogenesis)and phenobarbital (PB; promoter). Mice were divided into fivesub-groups: fed normal low protein diet (Gr. I, normal control);fed normal low protein plus alcohol-200 (vehicle of the homeopathicremedy) (Gr. II); fed diet mixed with 0.06% p-DAB plus 0.05%PB (Gr. III); fed diet and carcinogens like Gr.III, plus alcohol200 (positive control for drug fed mice) (Gr. IV) and fed dietand carcinogens like Gr. III, plus Natrum Sulphuiricum-200 (Gr.V; drug fed). Mice were sacrificed at day 7, 15, 30, 60, 90and day 120 for study of cytogenetical endpoints like chromosomeaberrations (CA), micronuclei (MN), mitotic index (MI) and spermhead anomaly (SHA) and biochemical toxicity parameters likeaspartate amino transferase (AST), alanine amino transferase(ALT), acid (AcP) and alkaline (AlkP) phosphatases, lipid peroxidation(LPO) and reduced glutathione (GSH) content. Less number ofliver tumors were observed in Gr. V (drug fed) mice. Administrationof Nat Sulph 200 reduced genomic damage, activities of AcP,AlkP, AST, ALT, LPO and increased GSH content. Therefore, independentreplication of the study by others is encouraged.

Mumbai, Nov 9 : A proposal for setting up of the North Eastern Institute of Ayurveda and Homoeopathy (NEIAH) at Shillong, Meghalaya, is finally ready to take off as the Department of Ayush has initiated efforts to commence civil works for the facility. The civil works for the institute, which has been in files for more than two years, is expected to commence in early 2010, according to a top official from the department.
The Department of Ayush has assigned HSCC (India) Ltd, a consultancy organisation under Government of India operating to render quality services in healthcare and other social sectors, to find eligible candidate to build the facility and the latter has floated a tender for the purpose last month. Ayush, which received approval for the institute from the central government in the beginning of 2008, is expecting to identify a contractor in the beginning of December, this year, and to commence the Rs 67.51 crore project soon, said the official who does not wanted to be quoted.
The NEIAH will be set up as an autonomous organization under the Department of Ayush at the premises of North Eastern Indira Gandhi Regional Institute of Health and Medical Sciences (NEIGRIHMS), another autonomous institute under the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
The institute is designed to facilitate promotion of Ayurveda and Homoeopathy, the expansion of health care, improvement in the doctor-population ratio and R&D on bio-resources in the North East. Though the proposal has been prepared two to three years ago, work on the project was in slow pace till recently. The Department-Related Parliamentary Standing Committee on Health and Family Welfare, headed by the Member of Parliament, Amar Singh, has been repeatedly seeking the department to put adequate interest into setting up of the institute and has even expressed its displeasure on the dismal performance of the department in utilisation of the allocated funds for the North East.
“The Committee is not happy about the dismal performance of the Department in utilization of the allocated funds for the North East. It is very disturbing to note that the provisions made could not be utilized fully even in respect of a single scheme,” said the committee in its report laid on the table of Lok Sabha in the end of April 2008.
At present, the presence of Ayurveda and homoeopathy institutions in North East are apparently minimal. Only one Ayurvedic College in Assam and three Homoeopathy colleges in Assam and Arunachal Pradesh are there in the North East.
Other states of the North East do not have even a single teaching institution, even though there is considerable demand for Ayurveda and Homoeopathic systems in North Eastern states. It is to improve the condition of Indian Systems of Medicines in this region, the Government of India has proposed a North Eastern Institute of Folk Medicine (NEIFM) in Arunachal Pradesh and North Eastern Institute of Ayurveda and Homoeopathy (NEIAH) in Meghalaya.
New Delhi, Sep 24 (IANS) Making homeopathic treatment more accessible to people, Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit Thursday launched a dedicated website for homeopathy that will provide online treatment facility and give advice to people. The website www.homeo.delhigovt.nic.in will have details of all the Delhi government homeopathic dispensaries, general homeopathic medicines and remedies for various diseases. “Homeopathy enjoys a high reputation and its remedies have been used traditionally in Indian families for over 150 years. Day by day the popularity of homoeopathy is increasing as it cures the disease from the roots in the safest, harmless, gentle and simple way,” said Dikshit. Dikshit said during the last five years around 7 million people were treated in homeopathic government dispensaries and her government was committed to furthering the popularity of the branch of medicine.
In the fall of 1918, 100 soldiers died daily in Camp Devens, Mass. (Cardcow.com)
History is often presented selectively, with details left out and others augmented to generate a particular emotional response among the public for a desired outcome. Comparing the current swine flu and its possible effects to the pandemic flu of 1918 is an example. Accounts of people dying within days or even hours upon contracting the 1918 flu are commonly reported today. The authorities are puzzled as to why the flu was so lethal, especially among those between the ages of 20 and 40, instead of the very young and the elderly. At that time, World War I was coming to an end, and most of the victims in that age group were troops lodged together in camps, ships, or on the battlefield, under stress and in crowded conditions.
The Flu's Origin and Migration
The origin of the 1918 virus remains a mystery even though the virus and its descendants—sometimes linked with birds and pigs—have been exhaustively examined with as much exact science as we have been capable of. [1] Originally, the virus was thought to have come from China, but the true incubators were U.S. military camps, starting in California in December 1917. [2] The flu then migrated to Fort Funston, Kan., where it appeared in early spring of 1918. The soldiers from that camp were shipped to Europe, where the flu spread. Soldiers coming back to Boston in September brought the flu to nearby Camp Devens, where the mortality rate averaged 100 deaths per day. [3]
Fatality Depends on Location and Treatment
The death toll of ordinary flu epidemics has remained at 1 percent, whereas in 1918, according to the Center for Disease Control (CDC), the death toll averaged 2.5 percent. This average does not take into account different locations and treatments. In some locations in the United States, the mortality rate was 25 to 60 percent. What were the factors accounting for the wide differences? Ohio, for instance, had 24,000 cases of the flu, with a mortality rate of 28 percent for cases treated by orthodox medicine, whereas 26,000 cases that were treated homeopathically had 1.05 percent mortality. While some got sick in the comforts of home, our young soldiers were under triple jeopardy. Their immune systems were compromised by many vaccinations; they were treated by the orthodox medicine of the day, and conditions were very crowded in their barracks. [4] Death usually occurred after bacterial pneumonia. Pneumonia bacteria are frequently lodged in the mouth and throat of people who are well, but in the weakened bodies of the soldiers, the bacteria were able to multiply and invade, causing pneumonia.
Homeopathy to the Rescue
Even with overcrowding, stress, and lack of public-health planning, homeopathic doctors could still successfully apply the principles of natural law: “Let likes be cured by likes.” The following are some of the examples quoted by Julian Winston in his article, “Influenza—1918: Homeopathy to the Rescue” [5]: “ ‘In a plant of 8,000 workers, we had only one death. Gelsemium was practically the only remedy used; there was no use of either aspirin or vaccination.’ —Frank Wieland, M.D., Chicago.” “ ‘I did not lose a single case of influenza; my death rate in the pneumonias was 2.1 percent. The salicylates, including aspirin and quinine, were almost the sole standbys of the old school, and it was a common thing to hear them speaking of losing 60 percent of their pneumonias.’—Dudley A. Williams, M.D., Providence, R.I.” “ ‘Fifteen hundred cases were reported at the Homeopathic Medical Society of the District of Columbia with but 15 deaths. Recoveries in the National Homeopathic Hospital were 100 percent.’—E. F. Sappington, M. D., Philadelphia.” “ ‘I have treated 1,000 cases of influenza. I have the records to show my work. I have no losses. Please give all credit to homeopathy and none to the Scotch-Irish-American!’—T. A. McCann, M.D., Dayton, Ohio.” “H. A. Roberts, M.D., was a physician on a troop ship at the time. Another boat pulled alongside to get any spare coffins—its mortality rate was so high. On his return to port, the commander asked Roberts, ‘Used all your coffins?’ To which Roberts, who had been treating his ship with homeopathy, replied, ‘Yes, and lost not one man!’ “In the transport service, I [Roberts] had 81 cases on the way over. All recovered and were landed. Every man received homeopathic treatment. One ship lost 31 on the way.” Was it the treatment after all that caused most of the fatalities? Homeopathy looks at the body as a microcosm. Each cell is a tiny, complete system. Symptoms are the body’s attempt to detoxify itself. Therefore, temporarily making the symptoms stronger with a homeopathic remedy is healing. Homeopathic remedies are diluted or ground (potentized) to a level beyond our ability to measure the material in molecules. As the body endeavors to heal itself, crude or hazardous substances may be worse than nothing, especially with the flu.
Orthodox Medical Treatment
The U.S. government recommended the following medications and treatments in 1918: · Aspirin for reducing fever. · Calomel, a laxative. · Seidlitz powder or Epsom salts, two more laxatives. · Bed rest and warmth. [6] However, fever is an essential defense against viruses. The practice of giving aspirin for the flu began in November 1918. [7] Was aspirin, then, the medication that suddenly put fatalities over the top? Calomel, a mercury laxative, has many side effects, such as dehydration, inflammation of the gums, and dental problems, according to “American Physicians in the Nineteenth Century: From Sects to Science” by William G. Rothstein. Of all the treatments officially recommended in 1918, the best advice was go to bed and keep warm. There were many people who did not get the flu, including those who cared for flu victims and lost sleep from long hours of work. Shouldn’t we be studying those people to learn what enabled their immune systems to remain strong? Now the media scares us about another pandemic. Our government may be gearing up for quarantines, enforcements of various kinds, and fines for noncompliance. The hope is that there will be no such heavy-handedness. Many lessons were learned from 1918 and subsequent flu epidemics. Each of us should keep informed so we can use our wisdom in the face of an onslaught of misinformation and media hype.

1925 G. Stearns & M. Stark reported the action of microdilutes on fruit fly tumors. In this fascinating study we see that microdilutes actually altered the genetics of their subjects. A genetically determined tendency to tumor formation ceased to exist after the administration of a microdilution of the tumor itself (isopathy). Controls were used. Other microdilutes were used to no effect. “Experiments with Homeopathic Potentized Substances Given to Dropsophilia Melanogaster with Hereditary Tumors”, The Homeopathic Recorder, 40.
1925 G. Stearns tested microdilutions of salt on guinea pigs and demonstrated adverse affects from 30c to 1000c sodium chloride. He noted loss of appetite, aversion for bread, loss of weight, their young poorly nourished and scrawny, less active, indifferent, hair less glossy, rough, untidy, eyes watery, lack luster. And homeopaths brag that their “remedies” (which are actually legal drugs) can do no harm! There were 16 female control animals, and they all became pregnant, whereas only 31% of the 48 female experimental animals became pregnant. At the end of five months over half, 55% of the experimental animals were dead compared to only 35% of the control animals “Experimental Data on One of the Fundamental Claims in Homeopathy”, The Journal of the American Institute of Homeopathy, 18.
1927 Karl Konig used microdilutes to experiment on frogs and fungi. He discovered that by using dilutions of of lead and silver nitrate ranging from 1 to 15c he could cause a premature metamorphosis in Rana fusca (common frog tadpoles) or kill them or the fungus in the water. Once again here we see that homeopathic drugs can have negative organic affects. Controls were used and the sinusoidal curve that we see in many experiments of diverse measures is first noted here. “On the Effect of Extremely Diluted (”Homeopathic”) Metal Salt Solutions on the Development and Growth of Tadpoles. Zeitschrift fur die Gesamte Experimentalle Medizin, 34, pp. 279-306
1929 Vladimir Vondracek repeated Konig’s work, and instead of lead and silver nitrate used gold chloride and a different species of frog. At 12c he also reported a significant increase in the mortality of tadpoles, and also obtained a repetition of the sinusoidal curve. “The Mortality of Tadpoles in Ultra Solutions” Zeitschrift fur die Gesamte Experimentelle Medizin. 66 pp. 533-538

1996 Conte, Berliocchi, Lasgne and Vernot, nuclear magnetic resonance, infrared, beta scintillation, In this amazing little book this interdisciplinary French team presents the first nuclear theory for homeopathic drugs. According to the authors when matters disappears by dilution and is potentized by succussion, it leaves the opposite of the well known super dense black hole, what the authors call a WHITE HOLE and discuss a new atomic particle, the HYPERPROTON. This investigation they believe reveals the first model for the drive of animated matter. In this report they evidence the emission of Beta radiation from homeopathic drugs. 2001 Geckeler, Kurt and Samal, Shashadhar at the Kwangju Institute of Science and Technology in South Korea discovered fullerenes, football-shaped buckyball molecules, formed aggregates in solution, and when diluted, the size of the fullerene particles increased. Cyclodextrin molecules behaved the same way. So did the organic molecule sodium guanosine monophosphate, DNA and sodium chloride. Dilution made molecules cluster five to 10 times bigger than those in the original solutions. Growth was not linear, and depended on the original concentration. Geckeler and Samal found that the more dilute the solution inthebeginning, the larger the aggregates become, and only worked in polar solvents like water, in which one end of the molecule has a pronounced positive charge while the other end is negative. Variation in Fourier transform infrared spectra of some homeopathic potencies and their diluent media. Department of Zoology, Visva-Bharati University, Santiniketan, West Bengal, India. OBJECTIVE: The aim of this study was to determine whether potentized homeopathic drugs and their diluent media differ from each other with respect to their Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectra.
DESIGN: FTIR spectra of Nux vomica 30C, Lycopodium 30C, Santonin 30C, Cina 30C, Cina 206C, Cina 1006C, and their diluent media 90% ethanol and Ethanol 30C were obtained in the wave number range of 2000-1000 cm1 at 20 degrees C. Potassium bromide powder soaked with the potencies, pressed into pellets, and air dried were used to measure the spectra. Because water structures in homeopathic potencies are thought to carry specific information on drug molecules and because O-H bending vibrational band (v2) exclusively belongs to water, the study was restricted to the bands in that wave number region. Alcohol has no absorption in the O-H bending region. RESULTS: The potencies were found to differ from each other and their diluent media in the number of v2 bands, their wave number (cm1), shape, and half-width (cm1) of the bands. Jennifer Jacobs, L. Jimenez, Margarita, Stephen Gloyd, "Treatment of Acute Childhood Diarrhea with Homeopathic Medicine: A Randomized Clinical Trial in Nicaragua," Pediatrics, May 1994, 93,5:719-25. This randomized double-blind study involving 81 children was conducted in Nicaragua in cooperation with the University of Washington and the University of Guadalajara. The results showed that, the individualized homeopathic medicine showed clinically and statistically significant improvement in the children’s diarrhea, compared to the children treated with placebo. Children that received homeopathic medicine recovered from infection 20% faster than the children treated with placebo. The children who were more sick reacted to the homeopathic treatment in a spectacular manner. In total the study used 18 different homeopathic medicines selected on an individualized basis according to the symptoms of each child.
The effectiveness of homeopathic treatment was proved is diabetic retinitis. (Zicari, et al., "Valutazione dell'azione Angioprotettiva di Preparati di Arnica nel Trattamento della Retinpatia Diabetica," Bolletino de Oculistica, 1992, 5:841-848).
White mice were exposed to X radiation with a power of 100 to 200 rad (non lethal dosage) and were then evaluated after 24, 48 and 72 hours. Ginseng 6X, 30CH and 200CH and Ruta graveolans 30CH and 200CH were given before and after the radiation. In comparison to mice who received placebo, those who were administered with homeopathic medicines presented significantly less damage in cells and chromosomes. (A.R. Khuda-Bukhsh, S. Banik, "Assessment of Cytogenetic Damage in X-irradiated Mice and its Alteration by Oral Administration of Potentized Homeopathic Drug, Ginseng D200," Berlin Journal of Research in Homeopathy, 1991, 1,4/5:254. Also Khuda-Bukhsh, A.R. Maity, S., "Alteration of Cytogenetic Effects by Oral Administration of Potentized Homeopathic Drug, Ruta graveolens in Mice Exposed to Sub-lethal X-radiation," Berlin Journal of Research in Homeopathy, 1991, 1, 4/5:264).
In a study conducted in the Moscow People’s Friendship University, the electric activity of the muscular wall of the stomach and duodenum was studied after the effect of the homeopathic medicine Nux Vomica (A. Zavadskaya, K. Privalova, S. Pasin, G. Loukas, Department of Homeopathy).
In an experiment using cats the effect of the medicine Nux Vomica 30CH was studied after applying it to the region of electrodes in the cardia of the stomach, the body, the pylorus and the duodenal bulb. After the application of the medicine, the muscular activity in the body increased by 3.2 times, 2.1 times in the pylorus, while in the duodenal bulb it was reduced by 2.2 times. The experiment proved the ability of the homeopathic medicine Nux Vomica to have an effect on the function of the stomach. The results of this experiment agree with the results of the homeopathy experimental proof for this medicine.
In another research conducted in the same university, the endurance of mice under hypoxia conditions due to the administration of the homeopathic medicine Hydrogenium Peroxydatum 30CH was studied (A. Chochlov, A. Zavadskaya, Ch. Efstathiou, G. Loukas, Department of Homeopathy). Two groups of mice were used, one of which received homeopathic medicine and the other placebo. Mice who received placebo were the healthier ones while mice that received the homeopathic medicine were the weaker ones. An experimental model was used, where the two groups were placed under high altitude conditions. Mice that received the homeopathic medicine showed faster and better adaptation to hypoxia conditions. Furthermore, when they returned to normal conditions, they reverted to their normal state more quickly and had longer life duration than the mice of the other group.
In another research conducted in the same university, the effect of the homeopathic medicine Berberis vulgaris on the lymphatic drainage was studied (A. Zavadskaya et al.). Plant tincture and homeopathic medicines in the 3rd, 6th and 30th potency were given to mice. Initially the time of drainage of the coloring substance from the intestine to the mesentery was measured before providing any medicine. Then the various medicines were tested and the drainage time was measured. The study of the results showed that the potentized forms of Berberis vulgaris increase the lymphatic drainage while the corresponding plant tincture contains it. Especially the 3rd and 6th potencies increased the drainage more in the intestine than in the mesentery while the 30th increased it to the same degree in both the intestine and the mesentery.

To make a contribution to solving this riddle, our research group tried to examine memory properties of water by the method of differential corona discharge Kirlian electrophotography of water-drop pairs. The method is based on a modified form of Kirlian photography with a subsequent thorough computer picture analysis. The potassium iodide (KI) mother solution (0.1M) was diluted in the standard way (without potentisation) or with potentisation (succussion by hand - by striking the vial 60 times against a large book as used traditionally) to 10-3M, 10-6M, 10-10M, 10-16M, 10-17M and 10-24M KI solutions. In the electrophotography method a drop of KI solution was compared with a drop of control water. To get a dependable system of results we compared homeopathic dilutions with ordinary distilled water, sham-potentised distilled water and non-potentised (standard) solutions. The results were analyzed by the Chi-square Goodness-of-fit test and the Sign test. They showed repeatable and statistically significant effects of concentration of KI dilutions as well as potentisation on the corona discharge process (from p < 0.05 to p < 0.001). This indicates that there is some physical basis of molecular (ionic) information imprinted into water. Physica A: Statistical Mechanics and its Applications Volume 323, 15 May 2003, Pages 67-74 Ultra-high dilutions of lithium chloride and sodium chloride (10-30 gcm-3) have been irradiated by X- and ?-rays at 77 K, then progressively rewarmed to room temperature. During that phase, their thermoluminescence has been studied and it was found that, despite their dilution beyond the Avogadro number, the emitted light was specific of the original salts dissolved initially.

A new geometrical description of entanglement and the curative homeopathic processMilgrom LR. Homeopathy Research Institute, London, United Kingdom J Altern Complement Med. 2008 Apr;14(3):329-39 Korean scientists prove homeopathy Benveniste’s dilutions went way beyond the level investigated by the Korean chemists Samal and Geckeler. The highest dilutions could have contained nothing but water molecules. Yet, these gave effects just as if the drug molecules were still present. The water appears to remember the original molecules dissolved in it. Rustum Roy This paper does not deal in any way with, and has no bearing whatsoever on, the clinical efficacy of any homeopathic remedy. However, it does definitively demolish the objection against homeopathy, when such is based on the wholly incorrect claim that since there is no difference in composition between a remedy and the pure water used, there can be no differences at all between them. We show the untenability of this claim against the central paradigm of materials science that it is structure (not composition) that (largely) controls properties, and structures can easily be changed in inorganic phases without any change of composition. The burden of proof on critics of homeopathy is to establish that the structure of the processed remedy is not different from the original solvent. Dynamics of hydrogen bonds: how to probe their role in the unusual properties of liquid water Jos Teixeira et al 2006 J. Phys.: Condens. The concept of memory of water is important to homeopathy because it offers a potential explanation of the mechanism of action of very high dilutions often used in homeopathy. Chemists in Korea have discovered Benveniste’s dilutions went way beyond the level investigated by the Korean chemists Samal and Geckeler. The highest dilutions could have contained nothing but water molecules. Yet, these gave effects just as if the drug molecules were still present. The water appears to remember the original molecules dissolved in it. Martin Chapman website on water structure references 1,200+ primarily peer-review articles. Chaplin is an objective observer of water structure and homeopathy, and his summary of the research is that homeopathic solutions are clearly not the same thing as plain water. E. Davenas, F.
